Because he isn't as good as him yet and we still want to win. Take your point tho

Anyone else shocked?

Apart from 800k per place, we're now in the position to look at the players, not gonna get into top 7, not going to get relegated. Does Bendtner matter if hes played.

He's gone backwards since he came here.

Left a club he has grown up at
Playing against better players
Playing in front of bigger crowds
Hardly playing
Injured

Jesus. This football lark isn't a walk in the pissing park sometimes.

19 years old. Name me 10 centre forwards who were first choice for their side at 19 in the premier league.

Owen
Fowler
Shearer

Er....

Agreed but...

Perception for new signings
800k a place is nowt to sneeze about

I see what you mean, but a potential £8M wasted isnt owt to be sniffed at either:neutral:

Rooney is another but I can't be arsed mate. He's not very good at the moment maybe he'll improve. I ain't hopeful, he doesn't look like a raw talent, he shows nothing. I honestly can't see how he's a professional footballer never mind how he was so highly rated

Exaggerate a bit why don't you. Jesus.

I just think we cant say hes not very good atm, hes hardly had any games, (same amount of starts as Ji and less sub appearences??)

Aye him anarl.

But there aren't that many.

But 20 years of 20 teams is 800 players. We have named 4. There may be a couple of dozen more, but it just shows how it ain't easy.

He has been average, not denying that, but a season in the championship and I reckon he will come good

i admire the optimism but 19 or not the kid doesn't seem to have anything. What potential or glimpses of quality have you seen? at 19 there should be something to hang your hat on. control, touch, balance, awareness, calm in the box under pressure? ive seen nowt. He's not even that hot in the air.

I'd try the fooker at centre half. Dave Watson style!

This.

I first feared we had a dud on our hands when he missed an absolute sitter at Norwich in September and minus his finish against Villa, he's done nothing to dispel that fear.

Basically

1) If M'ON is wanting to sign Bendner then he is going to play him and thats that cos he will want to keep him sweet.

and even if not wanting to sign him....

2) At 850k per place (and professional pride) we need to finish as high as we can as that money buys players/pays wages. And that means he's going to play Bendner as he is currently better than Wickham

Give over man, I think I remember Dick Malone scored one like that, and he was an iffy RB. Nothing special, as there was no one there to defend against him.

That goal is a carbon copy of the Ben Arfa one that had the media wanking themselves daft last weekend....Great bit of control, runs at a defence backing off although to be fair Wickham had to turn the defender and keeper in the box before scoring rather than just slotting it in....

No way can anybody make the judgement that he is not upto it yet....The type of player he is is very different from the other youngsters mentioned...Owen/Fowler etc were all about pace, close control and finishing, Wickham is going to be a big battering ram of a player in the Niall Quinn mould...That kind of player is likely to get better the older and more mature he gets. He has all the physical attributes but when your game is about the subtle use of your physique to lean on, pressurise and physically dominate big fuck off centre halves with 10 years international experience then it will take time to learn your art.....Give the lad some time.

As for the car comment, get a fuckin grip, if I was being paid thousands a week at 19 I would be buying a f***ing monster of a machine to get to work in...Would mean fuck all about my attitude, I just love motors :-D

I'd like to see him start from now until the end of the season, let's see how he does.

However, how bad must he be in training when he consistently gets nowhere near our first team?

Does he play for the reserves BTW?

He was woeful at Burnley pre season. I thought we'd fielded a random fan for a laugh. Looked a lot better when he had that little run in the side so maybe he'll come good. early days for the lad. We need to buy a centre forward regardless.
