Congerton told to stay on

Can you offer any examples of a multi-million pound business putting their most important recruitment task in the hands of someone who has already tendered their resignation?

I'll be amazed if you can.
Looking for a new manager has been a large part of congertons job for 9 months. To just say ok off you go when we are looking for a new manager would be ridiculous. Maybe he has already been speaking to people about the job who knows.
not sure what you mean by putting it in the hands of I doubt he is making the decision on his own I would hope he isn't.

If it's true, it means that we don't already have a replacement lined up.
Or we do and congerton has been heavily involved so they don't want him to go before its all signed and confirmed.

There's literally no chance on earth congerton will pick a new bloke without short being the main person involved

As soon as Short let Poyet get his own players in Congerton's time was run. He could probably have gone for constructive dismissal at the time if it was as clean cut as reported.

Frankly given his performance so far, I'd have him as far away from any major recruitment decision as possible.

Short is making the decision on this manager, Congerton has nothing to do with it according to that Keith Downie on SSN earlier!

Sky say Congerton nowt to do with the manager appointment?

I trust sky over daily mail like. Hoping Congerton has gone - just to get Big Sam more interested in that case

I've heard he is going but there's a clause in his deal that he may have to work a 12 month notice, if Allardyce does come he'll be gone very quickly if he hasn't already!
