Surely as a PL club it can't be hard to find a 'football person'willing to give advice on the next steps. It does seem odd leaving things in the hands of Congerton if he's already got his notice handed in

SAFC dont know anyone actually "in" football though. If we did we wouldnt be in this mess.

Short might make mistakes but isn't afraid to make decisions

He'll pick the new bloke. I'm sure

Even on an informal level though, there must be communication between directors etc. Plus we've had our fair share of dealings with numerous players and managers over the last 10 years. I just don't buy the view that any decision will be taken solely based on views of the existing board and congerton. At least I hope it's not true anyway

He will go. As I said on Friday, he has wanted to be away for a while and wants a 'new opportunity'. I think this is more a newspaper trying to create more interest. I expect him to go very soon half way out the door already, just needs to be firmly closed I guess.

Short maybe worried that if he fucks off now, he will have no football folk in the boardroom. Can not go to the lawyer or pop concerns organizer about footballing matters.
You know fuck all just like the rest of us.

Short will pick the new one. Will be tough though. Have to really twist BSA arm to take the job. Dyche was close to getting it before Dick in the summer, so he is in with a shout. Again though, be might be happy where he is now.

We chose our first DOF on the basis of ES was marras with his dad.

I know mate. Just like any profession though, always like to have the so called 'experts/informed' on the panel of an interview or vetting process.
"S0 Sam, can you tell us about your experience and who you have managed previously. Also what do you think qualifies you for this role"
