Seriously sick of the Premiership, sick of the c unts who have been stealing a living from our club, sick of the disgusting transfer fees paid for mediocre players with zero heart, sick of knowing that every season was going to be another survival battle with the only highlights being the inevitable double over the scum and tbh even that go so easy it was boring.

This relegation is a massive opportunity for our club to rid itself of the those who have taken the piss out of us for years and to decide what its identity is and pursue that identity. Southampton were in league one in 2010 and yet are light years ahead of us now. They had a plan, they created a philosophy and identity and they carried it through. Most of the Prem outside the top 6 would love to be Southampton now.

Sunderland is broken but all the pieces are there and we are light years ahead of where Southampton were in 2010. I for one cant wait for the new season, I cant wait to see the youngsters getting blooded, kids that will genuinely bust a gut for this club, cant wait to see hungry players turning out every week rather than self absorbed toss pots like Borini et al.

Top and bottom of it is, a Sunderland side doing well in the Championship will be a far better Saturday afternoon than a Sunderland side getting thumped yet again by a side like Bournemouth, Watford etc. Might even get me and the lad our first season tickets

Sunderland doing well would end up with us back facing them teams anyway

I'm not looking forward to it. Watched the odd Championship match on tv last season and it looks shite. The standard is absolutely awful. The quality of the Play off final on Monday, between 2 of the so called best teams wouldn't have looked out of place in a Sunday League fixture.

I know we've been crap for a while now but at least in the Premier League you get the chance to see some real top class players, even if they are playing for the opposition. The thought of watching us go head to head with other shit teams in a half empty stadium holds little appeal to me.

Hopefully we appoint an inspiring manager who can inject a bit of enthusiasm back into me because the last few years have drained it all.

spot on, some of our supporters are a strange bunch

Strange is wanting to go through what we have for the last 4 or 5 seasons again imo, if you can't compete you are a whipping boy, we have never had any sort of cushion to blood youth or take a chance on lower league talent which is more progressive than spunking £10m on a Lens type player who thinks he's doing you a favour by being here, it's an opportunity to put our house in order, do it right and the next time we grace the premiership we might actually grace it, add something to it, compete, progress! Being the turd that won't flush isn't the identity I want for this club.

It is that complete paradox.....

I hate the PL, all it stands for, the £ mercenaries on & off the pitch, self publicising media tossers who talk it up all the time ( greatest league in the world/Europe my arse) .... but

I want us to do well & be a successful club, represent the people & the area, I want to travel to Europe to watch us ...

As previously said, £ has wrecked football imho

Watched god knows how many seasons in the second division. Reality is that it's often as turgid and shite as usual but against even more turgid and shite opposition.
Glass half empty this morning. Woke up with a bad heed

retrospective action on diving will be interesting

If you only go to watch the opposition then those same teams will still be visiting just 10 minutes up the road next season, maybe that will hold a 'little appeal' to you.

The standard at the bottom of the Premier League isn't streets ahead of the standard at the top end of the Championship.

But look at it this way.

Odds on you're going to be winning more games than you lose, you should have recruited some young hungry lads who're motivated to get you promoted, you'll enjoy being one of the league's biggest teams and any lads who get to away games will be able to chalk off grounds that you're unlikely to face for a long time.

Surely that's a better season than one you've endured for the past 4/5yrs. Beating us aside.

I agree with this. I'm sick of the lack of atmosphere, getting embarrassed at BURNLEY, the constant diving, cheating. The PL is overrated when you are part of it. Rarely see two teams going st each other. Looking forward to hopefully enjoying a few games this year.
