Concept Albums

Do you have a Samsung? Is there a fix for those issues? I got a warning for that post as well crikey!

yeah. since my last phone upgrade it goes crazy on here. If you type short quick messages its fine, but if you linger then it starts adding in loads of extra blank sections. Its not just on here, my phone is doing it on another football forum now too.

Its a nightmare isnt it, I'll have a Google might be something on Reddit about it or something.

The Tain by Horlips is superb.

Written and recorded in response to everybody wrongly thinking Aqualung was a concept album. I think it falls a bit wide of the mark. They obviously had a headache over how to tie sides 1 and 2 together, and settled on that clunky as owt riff. The opening three minutes is the best thing about the whole record.

Ian Anderson went as far as to say it was a "parody" of concept albums. I agree that it is a chore to listen to in it's entirety. Aqualung is a far better album imo

Any recommendations for best concept albums? I'm often intrigued by them and want to see a great band/musician express a big story or theme across an album, but there can be a lot of dross. There's obviously Ziggy Stardust and What's Goin' On? as well as the big rock band ones like 2112 and Operation Mindcrime. But there's also utter shite like this: a Scientology themed concept album

@mickb2112 how did Bouchard's attempt to redo Imaginos pan out?
I have one coming in April...every song a true story and part of a journey.

What was the concept? Throw as many ideas in the mix as possible? I'm a big fan of the album, Tom Baker reading poetry over opera, what's not to love?

Attack of the Grey Lantern is to my mind a much better concept album, or maybe it's just more clear what the concept is.

I was gonna post ‘Six’ as well as ‘Chill Out’ KLF that was mentioned earlier.
one with an unlikely Sunderland connection - l'historie du Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg

One of my favourite albums but what’s the Sunderland connection?
