The last couple of albums The Lumineers have released have been quite 'concepty' (conceptish? :lol). Some recent ones (well 21st century and not yet mentioned):
Not listened to that in years, so just hoyed it on - thanks.Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots - Flaming Lips would be my favourite although I’m not 100% sure if it can be classed as such.
They’re touring the album this springNot listened to that in years, so just hoyed it on - thanks.
See comments above.
Concept or not, it's certainly a better record than Thick As A Brick.
Passed me by these (well they're before me time really), so thought I'd have a dip in. Just listened to The White Rider (I'm bang into Tolkien). Canny.3 great albums there. Been listening to Camel regularly for 42 years.
Marty Robbins' Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs is an absolute lesson in great storytelling.Moving away from prog rock: ‘Wheelhouse’ by Brad Paisley is a concept album. Sort of. Here’s a track. The videos crap.
(subversive much, me eh?)
Never even heard of that before. Very canny. Just skimmed it, thus far but I'll certainly be giving it a proper listen, in the car later.Still one of the best concept albums ever made:
You won't be disappointed mate. Good review and background story here.Never even heard of that before. Very canny. Just skimmed it, thus far but I'll certainly be giving it a proper listen, in the car later.
