Concept Albums

Coheed and Cambria's first 5 or 6 albums are story based.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is my favourite album but Operation Mindcrime is a more linear narrative.

I guess we have to mention Histoire de Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg as it’s probably one of the few concept albums featuring Sunderland, with the eponymous lass meeting her end on her way back home there.

The Tain by Horlips is superb.
Thick as a brick - Jethro Tull
Written and recorded in response to everybody wrongly thinking Aqualung was a concept album. I think it falls a bit wide of the mark. They obviously had a headache over how to tie sides 1 and 2 together, and settled on that clunky as owt riff. The opening three minutes is the best thing about the whole record.

And From The Inside. A vastly underrated masterpiece.
Queensrýche - Operation Mindcrime.
Extreme - Pornograffiti. In fact, most of Extreme's albums.
And another Cooper DaDa
Another underrated LP
Cooper was the king of concept albums
