Concept Albums

What the hells up with this thread?

Anyways first few arcade fire albums

In the aeroplane over the sea by neutral milk hotel

deloused in the crematorium by the Mars Volta

Ants from up there by Black Country new road, don’t think that’s widely known as a concept album but it definitely has recurring themes throughout

Scott 4 by Scott Walker possibly? As above recurring themes

Any recommendations for best concept albums? I'm often intrigued by them and want to see a great band/musician express a big story or theme across an album, but there can be a lot of dross. There's obviously Ziggy Stardust and What's Goin' On? as well as the big rock band ones like 2112 and Operation Mindcrime. But there's also utter shite like this: a Scientology themed concept album

@mickb2112 how did Bouchard's attempt to redo Imaginos pan out?
It`s canny - he`s doing it in 3 parts with parts 1 and 2 now out and Part 3 coming this year. Part 1 re-Imaginos was more of a stripped down acoustic album but Part 2: Bombs Over Germany (Minus Zero and Counting) is more full on electric. Apparently Part 3: The Mutant Reformation is supposed to be more bombastic too. he`s then going to put all three out together in a deluxe set with extra material. It`s pretty ambitious and I`ve enjoyed it so far although Albrt`s voice is an acquired taste and probably works best when he shares the singing with Eric, Buck and Joe.

One of my favourite tracks from ‘Healing’ : Todd Rundgren's ninth studio album, released in 1981. The album's themes are spirituality and the human condition, something Rundgren had touched on many times in earlier works but never with the consistency exhibited here as every track explores a different aspect.

The track is probably the most accessible track (apart from the two tracks that were added as a bonus after the albums release)

Compassion:
