Good to hear, these people running our club have got to learn tho, actions speak louder than words

Like you say, actions speak louder than words! We should be using it to build from the ground up for the long term, we’ve wasted 2 years now though!

Rodwell said he was not directly involved in the Mumba deal with the clubs having been in talks for a significant period, but said it reflected the challenge of convincing players to commit their long-term future.
Mumba has a year left on his current deal.
"Part of the remit for the new academy manager will be exactly that.

"We’ve got to do more to try and keep hold of these guys.

"It is difficult but there are things I think we can do."

Hi Jack. Do you think we can bin off owners who are committed to asset stripping? It would be nice to have an ownership fully committed to keeping control over the academy and treating it and the players coming through it as assets to keep rather than sell.

You know we didn’t make Jack Rodwell our CEO, right?

Absolute bullshit, piss off Jim
Having been a premier league team for ten 10 years and having a half decent academy, us falling to league one, we should have seen at least 5 academy graduates in our match day squad, not selling them for buttons to fix a light.
And is this an admission, they they’ve been selling young players ?

Its pointless retaining academy 1 status when any player of any worth is snapped up by clubs in Championship and Premier and there seems to be nothing the club either can or wish to do about it. They even seem to be actively selling any kids worth anything. These are the kids who should be making up half the first team now. The well on that front is almost dry, so having CAT1 is now utterly pointless. This should be something we let go and go after once were a half decent club again and back in the Championship at least.
