There is absolutely zero chance of Colly playing for England. Primarily because he has retired and has no interest in playing at that level again.

Have you spoken to him and had that confirmed?

He may have no interest in putting himself forward, but if the call comes.......?

Westley vs. unfit KP. Hmm.
I'd be more confident with KP at 3 and Collingwood at 5 than I would with any of the other players being mooted for the positions. At least we know these two have the mentality to actually succeed.

It would be great for cricket as well, can you imagine the media ruckus it would cause man:lol:. It would be class imo like.

He's injured mate.
He's got till the winter to get himself ready and there's no doubt he'd be motivated to prove everyone wrong. I know you hate him but give an honest answer, Westley or KP at 3 in the ashes, who do you believe would score more?

Mate there is no way he could play 5 day cricket

He's fucked

KP wouldn't bat at 3 before, he refused to, so what makes you think he would do so now?

He's only got a calf strain man, and it's not like he bats for hours or runs much anyway.

I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole normally, but the ashes are up next and I hate losing to that lot more than words can say.

This is me speaking without my I hate KP hat on, I honestly don't think he could make it through one 5 day game. He doesn't always field when he plays 20/20.

Not sure why even getting into it, but I don't think he would score runs, Colly is one of the top run scorers in the country for example

There will be lads in county cricket who can score runs, its just a trial and error thing.

We wasted too much time picking players out of form

For how much longer? There's 1 test left before the Ashes.

Ego is the answer. No way could he refuse a last chance in the limelight. IMO he'd bat anywhere.

I can certainly imagine the media ruckus it causes - especially if it was a shambles and England capitulated
Anyone we can put in at 3 is likely to fail though.

Who would you back to score more Westley or KP?

I know it's not going to happen but I genuinely think he'd be more likely to score runs than the alternatives.

It's getting silly we talking about sending a unfit cricketer and a retired 41 cricketer to bat at 3 and 5.

Why don't we simply move Root to 3, Stokes or Bairstow to 5 and bring in a talented player like Hales down the order.

Why don't our senior talented proven test cricketers just take more responsibility to bat in the current problem postitions in such a big series?
