That’s what the problem is.Rodwell is nowhere near the first team squad, Coleman doesn't need to get him interested. What Coleman needs to do is motivate the players he picks every week, and he's totally failed at that.
You mean the player of the year?
Like who? Last time we got relegated to the third tier we kept most of the players and bounced straight back. That’s what the problem is.
I said it on another thread. If you look at the teams that get relegated and don’t bounce back they’re all filled with old key players. Teams that have done patch work rather than building.
It’s not a go at JoS but the fact he’s our player of the year says it all
When Blackburn got relegated most of their squad was aging, same as Portsmouth, same as BirminghamLike who? Last time we got relegated to the third tier we kept most of the players and bounced straight back.
I would be looking to keep as many players as possible.
You mean like the time before, and the time before that and on and on? When will people realise the players are not good enough and if we had decent players from the start we'd have made a profit on them or they'd have kept us in the Prem. I don't buy this new idea manager of turning things around, maybe 1 or 2 games yes because they want picked for the side.So I assume you are happy with the current system and tactics? They are one of the reasons we've been relegated.
FFS, we're talking about football, not brain surgery. If a new manager comes in with new effective tactics the players should be able to adapt to it fairly quickly.
And how do you do that with the likes of Rodwell, seriously.
Nobody is lavishing praise on him, but most managers wouldn’t come out and say itWhy wouldn't they come?
Let's see if he actually takes one first before lavishing praise on him.
I love the bloke. We 100% couldn’t get anyone better. I still think we’re punching above our weight with him tbh.
I hope we stick with him for a long term plan
Once the rot had set that deep you can’t paint over the top anymore. It’s one of the reasons we’ve been in such free fall.
The end of this season is a defining moment in our rebuild. We have an excellent opportunity to repair the foundations
This bloke just keeps on surprising me.. quality move from the manager.
surprised us all no doubt!!!!!
I'm not saying they were good enough to keep us in the premier league, I'm saying they we're good enough to keep us in the championship. You mean like the time before, and the time before that and on and on? The quality that kept us in the prem was lost when BSA leftI'm not saying they were good enough to keep us in the premier league, I'm saying they we're good enough to keep us in the championship.
The players that remained could have kept us in the championship. We still have at least 7 current internationals and years of premier league experience in the squad. Unless you think Burton really have a better squad than us?The quality that kept us in the prem was lost when BSA left
so we went down
Then the quality that remained was sold and loaned out - and not replaced because the wage bill was still far too high for players we couldn't give away.
so we went down
Its pretty easy to work out, no?
Our defence and goal keeping, no.The players that remained could have kept us in the championship. We still have at least 7 current internationals and years of premier league experience in the squad. Unless you think Burton really have a better squad than us?

We've got at least three current international defenders. If the defence was better organised they would perform better. I agree on the keepers but if the team was playing better they wouldn't be so exposed. Our defence and goal keeping, no.
Who are these two managers? So no, I don't agree. And 2 decent managers have both utterly failed to drag performances out of it
The players we did have we sold, the likes of Kaboul, Van Aanholt, Pickford, Yedlin not bought who was clearly better than Jones. We got rid of these players and replaced with the likes of Steele, Salter, Lua Lua, Mcmanaman. I still don't think these were good enough for the Championship noI'm not saying they were good enough to keep us in the premier league, I'm saying they we're good enough to keep us in the championship.
Do you really think the championship is the same standard as the premier league? Because that's what you're alluding to.
International means fuck all though. We've got at least three current international defenders. If the defence was better organised they would perform better. I agree on the keepers but if the team was playing better they wouldn't be so exposed.

I f***ing wouldntLike who? Last time we got relegated to the third tier we kept most of the players and bounced straight back.

It gives an indication of how good they are compared to teams that have none. And its up to the manager to get them playing as a team .International means fuck all though.
Also, a defence is a team, not 5 individuals.
Highly regarded? He was the epitome of mediocre. His highest ever finish was 11th in the championship. As for the 2nd bit, Grayson was highly regarded on here before we ruined him.
Coleman was totally style over substance. He seemed a coup when we got him but in reality he was the total wrong person for a club in a championship relegation battle. His club record is poor and he hadn't managed a club for years . He was another mistake by Bain .Coleman seemed a decent idea too to most.
