Colback outstanding AGAIN...

I thought he had a very good game but outstanding is pushing it a little, for me anyway, I'd save that for probably scoring and assisting in a game.

Could have done better in a couple of situations first half yet was unlucky that others (mainly Borini) didn't provide him with at least an assist. To be honest I still stand by the fact that he plays a very similar game to that most games yet the difference being is that the players he passed to today actually did something with the ball and therefore makes him look better. I think his role/performance often goes unnoticed as in the main his passing is side rule and across the deck and he rarely looks for the hollywood [ass such as as a sprayed cross field pass or a dink over the top, as he is always looking to retain possession and thinks about who he is passing to rather than playing it in hope. Another thing which I think which goes unnoticed somewhat is that whilst he does give away quite a few niggly free kicks he doesn't half get a lot as well, particularly in defensive positions.

Probably shaded the motm for me of the 3 in midfield, and yes Larsson got an assist but that was from a corner rather than in open play.

Well said.
I think that's the key to it. 90% 0f the bread n butter stuff he did today he does every game. It often seems to go unnoticed by some of our fans.
Never mind, as Ice Cube would say, "Today was a Good Day".

Easily one of his better games. Was pushing ahead rather than just going sideways with the ball. When he does run with the ball and at opponents he looks a different class yet he rarely does it. Don't know if that is lack of confidence or tactics, although with Catts playing deper he should have the ok to push ahead.

We seem to have a growing list of players we should keep, neglecting the fact that they arent good enough and that they have continually got us into relegation trouble. Let them go marra. We can get much better if we have a mind too.

But letting players with a PL pedigree go for nowt and having to sign better costs an awful lot of money. Colback on a 4 year contract is probably a £4-5m player so getting someone better in leaves you a few million down overall. If he can be persuaded to stay it's a no-brainer for me.

Colback does a lot that we expect from Cattermole, without the idiocy!

Absolutely. Little things like when to tackle is often more important than how to tackle.

Anyway, i won't knock Catt's today. He played his part and showed decent discipline. Like many others he had a good game.
The team was the winner today. Great work ethic all round.
