Colback outstanding AGAIN...

I wonder, am I the only one who thinks he wasn't "outstanding"?

Decent game.... but really?
We beat a dreadful team who is at the bottom of the table and suddenly our players are brilliant, excellent or lots of other over rated words. We played well and Colback did his part particularly in the second half after doing little of note in the first. That's all. He wasn't brilliant, the best man on the pitch or any such nonsense.

So the thread title is a tad misleading as it's about 20% agreeing and 80% disagreeing.

I thought he had a better game than usual today but he was not outstanding.

Watching Liverpool v Chelsea and see the likes of Gerrard Sterling Lampard Willian , then remember we have Colback and wonder why we struggle year after year ... haven't a clue..anyone.
Had a decent game, nothing more...and will be disappointed if he is still in the team next season.

Every one today was fantastic. I just hope this deal isn't signed with the Mags and Gus opens up new talks. Type of player we need.

'Good' performance and so it should be from a professional. Would I keep him? As a utility/back up player yes, as a first XI player no.

I couldn't give a flying fuck about the MOTM thread. Larsson was outstanding today

Personally i don't think there was an outstanding player on the pitch from either side. We did have lots of good performances with the odd very good performance though.
In my opinion the whole was bigger than the sum of the parts.

I gave my MOTM to Colback. His track back tackle early in the second half defined his and the team's overall performance.

One tackle gave him MOTM? You're hideous

Colback did loads of good work today, both attacking ad defending. That tackle was a key illustration to why we won the game though.
Relentless hard work, wearing the opposition down and not giving them anything for free. We took our chances which put the icing on the cake.

It was a very professional team performance and Colback did all his talking on the pitch.

He played very well, all 3 central midfielders did. Larsson the pick of them.

Colback had the edge.
Shame his long shot didn't go in. Didn't realise how close it was till i saw the replay. Keeper never even moved.

Colback was great today. Seems to have his best games when he's the more attacking CM. But for me MotM was Wickham. Not just for the goals, his all-round play was good. His hold-up play and pass for Colback's shot was superb.

This, it's funny how against West Ham the ball got away from him nearly every time yet since then he seems to have a really good touch when he's collecting long passes and holding the ball.
