I was outside the main stand at Roker Park with my Grandad and I was playing up. It was before a game and there were plenty of people about. I cannot remember what I was playing up about but I was about 8 yrs old and my Grandad had just told me off when I felt a soft boot to my arse.
I turned round to see Charlie Hurley walk past, look back and glare at me.
I remember my Grandad saying to me " Shut your mouth, there's a train coming !".
A memory I've held for many years now.
I will pay my respects to the great man next week, not bad considering some think I am now 104 years old.

On a Sunderland board talking about clackers at half past ten on Friday night

Apologies in advance but I wouldn't give a bucket of piss for your opinion on any subject matter tbh. Off you fuck.

You're an idiot ..... an idiot with a bucket of piss on a Sunderland forum

You're quoting this idiot and making it plural ...... why's that?

Midds has come on for an argument and is intent on derailing the thread.
Take two to argue hence the plural

The greatest centre half the world has ever seen
As probably one of the few ( on this thread) who saw him play for several seasons I love him to bits. He played the vast majority of his games in the old second division.
He was a no nonsense centre back who the fans loved and his headers seemed gargantuan.
The longer since he played the better he gets.
To me he sits alongside ball. A great servant to the club who gave his all every game. Ability wise ...people need to get a bit of perspective. Never an easy ask with bairns like.

When did ball finish runner up as player of the year?

So you've decided that I'm spoiling the thread for responding to Midds but your posts aren't spoiling it.

Are you arguing or responding?
Just carry on, do what you want. Me, I am away to bed.

Where did I see he did?
Tead my post and you'll see I compared the 2 on the basis of their service to the club and overall ability.
But hey if you are looking for monsters under the bed fill your boots
