Fuck knows but if people want them they will stay and if they annoy people they will go. Remember 'I feel good' after a goal?

See this is the bit that worries me.

People have said they don't want them now and are being ignored.

If they say that don't want them afterwards what's to stop them being ignored again?

This forum isn't reflective of 40k+ match going regulars. I hope to fuck the nufc forums aren't reflective of your society.

Consistency is good. Given the shit Leicester have received recently I'm sure an absolute shitload of criticism will follow this announcement. It's the moving of goalposts that irk me tbh. Sunderland do it? Mint, great idea, honour a legend. Leicester do it? Tin pot wankers, small time, fair weather pricks etc.

Make your f***ing minds up and stick to it ffs.

We don't all think the club is always right. We don't think all mags go around punching horses either.

Why are you complaining about inconsistency on the main forum of your biggest rivals? Surely you could preach much closer to home? We could provide plenty of material for your moral crusade.

I was outside the main stand at Roker Park with my Grandad and I was playing up. It was before a game and there were plenty of people about. I cannot remember what I was playing up about but I was about 8 yrs old and my Grandad had just told me off when I felt a soft boot to my arse.
I turned round to see Charlie Hurley walk past, look back and glare at me.
I remember my Grandad saying to me " Shut your mouth, there's a train coming !".
A memory I've held for many years now.

On a Sunderland board talking about clackers at half past ten on Friday night

Remember the first game in the cup at Old Trafford in 64 was it? The Stretford End were singing before the game then suddenly from our end came 'Charlie, Charlie, Charlie' and we drowned the Mancs out. Hairs on the back of the neck time!

As an aside we should have won that game. Funnily enough it was Hurley's back header to the concussed Monty which gave Man Utd their undeserved third goal

Having just read the club page about this, it's good to see the gates from the old training ground have been re-sited at the SOL and will be rededicated before the game too.
Three game epic.
Great news about the gates, I did not know about this thanks. Off to the clubs web site now.

Sunderland AFC’s next game at the Stadium of Light will see the club pay tribute to one of its favourite sons, Charlie Hurley.

The Black Cats welcome Hull City on Saturday 19th November and the fixture has been designated as ‘Charlie Hurley Day’.

A number of activities are planned in honour of Charlie’s 80th birthday, with the legend himself is set to attend the game as guest of honour.

Class.
Excellent news. Do we have a song for him?
