This is one of my favourite clips of safc

That's class that :D

I'll have to tell my Dad to put the tele on early in case there is coverage as he loved watching him play.
My dad was at safc at the same time as Charlie. It was great when my dad used to wear one of those als t-shirts from the 90s iirc something about him being built from granite or something

Why?
Is CH day an annual event that Ive missed out on?
Is it summit thats been planned for months but just been announced giving a weeks notice?
Or is it an attempth to deflect attention from onfield events on what has to be the biggest non-derby game for years?
well considering they managed to commission a crowd surfer id say they've had this pland for at least a little time. those things cant be knocked up in a couple of days.

Just look at the Roker End and l was there I am proud to say.

I have never seen him play but so many people still revere him that he must have been a great player.

Similar to how loads of people are Christian but never saw Jesus perform miracles.
Love that

Nice one mate we had a thread about some old footage a while ago. The straw was to protect the pitch from frost iirc but those lads at the front were hoying it around, and a mini pitch invasion too!

The straw was to protect the pitch from snow and frost. We got free entry for clearing the pitch before a game. Memories.

Just asking the question here to older supporters. I'm not judging Hurley in any way because I wasn't born when he played.

Was he really as good as his legend suggests? When you look at his time here he played most of it at what is now bottom 6 Prem/top half championship level.

I'm just asking because if he really was that good, why didn't Man Utd or whoever the best teams in the country were come in for him at some point? Was he really our player of the century or was he our most popular player of the century?

The reason why my family are Sunderland supporters. My dad's hero when he was growing up. He would miss school to travel up to Dalymount Park to watch him play for Ireland. He started following Sunderland matches on the radio (my dad is not Martin O'Neill) and try to get match reports in the paper. He managed to get newspaper clippings sent over sent over by family in England. He met hin a few years ago and my dad was a kis on Christmas Day! Most Irish fans of his day would say he was one of the best player Ireland every had. It's sad, but modern Ireland fans wouldn't know who he his.

Never seen him play therefore not arsed
Well fuck off and support Barcelona.

Mag-esque. Embarrassing etc.
Nah it isn't. You lot erased everything pre-1992.
