Claudia Lawrence

It's just a theory but I reckon she was an escort of sorts or in a financially beneficial relationship. The suspects are always described as white middle aged, most senior army officers are in that bracket. York is a military town, army types love their bits on the side.
They would have the ability and influence to cover up a crime like this.

Like I say its just a theory.

This nonsense is typical of the lazy opinions people have about her based on 1 ill informed comment by the head copper.

Was it just that?

The official line is she had a number of complex relationships.

Which is odd, as they also said she had no internet/social media footprint.

So how in this day and age do you develop those without digital? Very strange.

The copper was criticised heavily though, he made it sound worse than it was which has led to ridiculous amount of speculation about her sex life, which is mostly not true. Detracted from the basics of the story.

The cops have a fair idea who has done it like, they have suspicions, they arrested 5 hoping someone would give something away. I am convinced it is someone she knew from her local.

Her house was spotless though and she didn't go out, so indicates no struggle and it was someone she knew.

That Christopher Haliwell is possible I guess though. Very very very few people commit murder, if you have a convicted murder whose father lives in that location, its a hell of a coincidence if not like.

Always felt sorry for the fatha like, poor bloke.

Can't remember, think it was on a TV programme but his old man lives/lived right next to Lawrence

Somebody posted the link to The Sun report earlier which briefly mentions it. It would certainly make him a prime suspect although the police seem to already know a lot of information that hasn't been disclosed and seems to go down other avenues rather than an out and out lunatic serial killer.

North Yorkshire Police have clearly pursued their own avenue of enquiry, but have they been blinkered or side tracked. They've had an absolute shocker with the case so far.

Saw a few reports also saying similarities to the lass who went missing in Hull recently

Libby Squire case 'so similar' to woman's mystery disappearance

Geographically its very close I suppose
I think they may have just recovered her body, looking like she ended up in the Humber Estuary .

Libby Squire: Body found in Humber Estuary is that of missing student, police say

Damn shame, would be interesting to see if the body has any DNA on to catch the killer
Sorry, just seen this post. Being in the water for such a long time will make DNA retrieval very difficult, there's nothing to say she didn't just fall in the water somewhere pissed though ? she was hammered the night she went missing apparently.

Bless her

As a Hull University Alumni, I must admit this is very sad news to hear.

If you look at where she went missing, there's the tributary for The River Hull and the River Hull itself not far away. Granted I'm not sure how the poor lass ended up there after she got back from The Welly, but if she was wandering in the dark and fell in, cold water shock might have got her before anything else.

It's her parents and friends I feel for.
