I assumed when you implicated an army officer and said it was a military town, you meant a serving officer of the British Army, and not a Roman centurion.
For someone who claims to have lived there you obviously walked round the place with yer eyes shut.
Aye whatever..
Old Duke used to have 10,000 of them thereI don’t claim to have lived there mate, I did. For five years. And never got the impression of York as a military town, at all.
(I’m not saying it isn’t but I never got the impression it was, walls or not)

Whilst it was a good line and got you a few likes my post was meant to show that York has always been a military town for hundreds of years. If you lived there for 5 years you can't seriously say you never noticed any military presence there. The uni is on the same road as imphal barracks man.I don’t claim to have lived there mate, I did. There’s the barracks between Fulford and the university, and I’m sure there’s another site out towards Strensall but I’ve never heard York described as a military town or really felt a significant military presence there.
Ower busy worrying who`d nicked your bell werent you mateyI didn’t say I had noticed no military presence and I said in my post that there’s barracks between the university and Fulford, and also at Strensall.
Despite this, I have never personally thought of York as a military town, with any significant military presence.

In hindsight, a wireless bell attached to the gate with electrical tape was probably a bad idea.
You're wasting your time with Mr. Logic marra.Whilst it was a good line and got you a few likes my post was meant to show that York has always been a military town for hundreds of years. Agree that she will be dead, but very little to prove she was killed at home.
Really odd case, but would recommend reading the BBC article on it.

The police investigation site is quite informative too, Claudia Lawrence investigation
Not the worst logic tbf. The things they cover up to protect someone of higher rank is f***ing disgraceful. It's just a theory but I reckon she was an escort of sorts or in a financially beneficial relationship. The suspects are always described as white middle aged, most senior army officers are in that bracket. York is a military town, army types love their bits on the side.
They would have the ability and influence to cover up a crime like this.
Like I say its just a theory.
