It's just a theory but I reckon she was an escort of sorts or in a financially beneficial relationship. The suspects are always described as white middle aged, most senior army officers are in that bracket. York is a military town, army types love their bits on the side.
They would have the ability and influence to cover up a crime like this.

Like I say its just a theory.

White middle aged describes most of York

Good theory, but why kill her? Was she gonna inform the Army Officer’s wife I wonder? I am well aware that Officer’s like a bit on the side :lol:

There's so many little bits of evidence that can't be closed. The escort theory is feasible but surely, someone would be able to confirm that she was.

Further to the theory regarding an Army Officer, he will more than likely be discharged from the army now and living elsewhere

Didn’t realise Ironside posted on here!

There’s the barracks between Fulford and the university, and I’m sure there’s another site out towards Strensall but I’ve never heard York described as a military town or really felt a significant military presence there.
You never seen those big walls that run round the place like? Historically it's one of the most important military towns in the UK. That's why the queen's son is the Duke of York

Read the “long read” on bbc website the other day and there were several theories. She had quite a few relationships ( nowt wrong with that if you are single) so there could be quite a web of blokes out there. Suggestions of married men and also a suggestion that she could be under the founds of a building.
There’s been a few over the years ( Lamplue for one ) that never seem to give up the body

Imphal Barracks and Queen Elizabeth Barracks both substantial barracks

Actually come to think of it doesnt the Army have its own Officer training corps as part of the uni? An offshoot of Sandhurst
