Dubious that - what if the linesman was on the other side?

In fact that's no goal, if there wasnt a hole in the pitch the ball wouldn't have moved. Take the corner again

  • The ball is in play when it is kicked and clearly moves; it does not need to leave the corner area
I'm not sure the ball clearly moved. Wasn't clear to anyone but him, the lino and the lad with the camera.

You could only really get away with it once a match really or hope people switched off or forgot

When Beckham and Giggs took the corner simultaneously as well… we spent literal hours trying that. We were at a disadvantage having two taking it ffs…

I always thought it had to move out of its initial position. Is that a new rule

Law 17 does say ‘clearly moves’ but what on earth does that mean, just has to wobble a bit?
Should be far more definitive, once upon a time it had to move a distance equal to the circumference of the ball.

Yet another linesman who doesn’t know what he is doing …. The referees assistant should have moved a step left to indicate the ball was in play and to be inline with the last defender. He should have been in a ‘crouching’ position looking for a potential offside whereas he was actually stood half off the end of the pitch looking like play hadn’t started (he’s doesn’t move his body at all)…

He will probably be our Lino next week….

Very poor judgement by the Lino - there must have been hundreds of thousands of pounds riding on the result of that one game.
The Joe Soap Welfare League desperately needs VAR.
