Clarke’s value in January and will the club cash in?

Well the talk in the close season was Burnley would have got him if they offered £15m. Has the club publicly said £25m like? No chance.
January prices are generally way higher than in the summer so I wouldn’t bet against £15 then to £25 now being too wide of the mark. It does seem inevitable that the lad will go at some point and based on his form this season I think that will be no surprise to anyone. He’s on a fairly long contract here so I would imagine we hold a few ace cards up our sleeves for that moment when these clubs come calling, and they will.

worth slightly more than that marra 😉

I've been told we accepted an offer for January and it was agreed but Jack wants to wait until the end of the season, if we don't go up, he will go, was told 20 million was the figure and it was between palace and Brentford

I have a feeling if we are around mid table in January, we'll have no option but to sell,as he'll ask to leave. We need to start pushing into that top six again

He’s off the boil isn’t he ?
That might affect the price we get. Spurs will get a big chunk too.

His value will be more than it was in the summer (whatever that was?) but won’t be as much as what he’ll be worth next summer. If the club choose to cash in in January they may as well just tell the fans they aren’t looking to get promoted. Why wouldn’t we just keep him until the summer?

Im not so sure about that tbh, well the second part anyway.

Whilst most fans perceive Sunderland to be about football, any dutiful owner will balance this view against Sunderland being a business. To be a well run business, Sunderland will continue to evolve, players will come and go. If you were not a supporter, owned a business, bought a commodity for tuppence and someone offered 20m, from a business perspective, there is no guarantee that value will go much higher, so it makes prudent business sense to sell

if they have an established striker lined up for around 10m who can guarantee goals, then if an offer comes in for £20m i can see him going.
Just makes good business sense if AA can slot in that role.
If the striker bangs them in, then i can see any supporter anger being quelled pretty quick

We won’t be signing any £10m players, we don’t pay those sort of wages.

Forget Clarke, if I were SAFC I'd be letting it out that we're after £25m for Jobe Bellingham and will sell at that price. You just know the media will get in a frenzy, and someone will be prepared to pay that for him, because he actually is the most over-valued player in the entire world.
