Been happening all over town, I saw at least 3 vehicles clamped in thorney yesterday as well as the van garn round looking for others

It was a DVLA van, not an outside agency or nowt. Apologies for the pun but maybe they've decided to clamp down on tax dodgers. Whilst obviously there'll be genuine cases of people forgetting, I'll bet there's more that think they'll just not bother seeing as you don't need to display a disc any more. They must be doing an area at a time, going off their database of untaxed vehicles.

this is true. i've an old bike that doesn't need tax (or an mot) yet still got to 'tax' it.

Yes mate, paid them on Thursday whilst at work, clamp removed when I got back to the car in the evening, straight to the MOT garage, passes and taxed. Will ring them for £160 back Monday. Just hope I don’t get a fine through the post..
