ok, a bit of help needed here chaps!

A tile has fallen off a roof which surrounds our car park at work and smashe in front of my car (luckily) but has caused one of the fragments of the tile to hit my bumber causing a big chip on the paint. size of £2 coin.

I have found out who the owners of the property are (housing association), but my question is, do I need to involve my insurance company for my car. I have a £500 excess on my policy so if they tried to dodge it of got messy and would not pay out, i would have to fit the bill.

anyone any advice on this, I have taken pics of the damage and where the tile fell.

not from the pics i've got, point of impact and where the bit of tile hit.

The insurer will probably say you noticed the broken tile and decided to use it as a way of getting your windscreen replaced for nowt. Get a witness to say they watched the tile fall from the roof and cause the damage.

It's his bumber man!

Get a touch up pen off ebay, and some very fine wet n dry sand paper.

Failing that, brake fluid will certainly make the chip un-noticeable.

Nigh on impossible to prove even with those photos. They just prove a tile did fall but not that part of the tile damaged your car.

You could approach the owner of the building and ask them to pay. I'm sure they would politely decline so then you would have to claim on your insurance which if they were proven to be at fault it would be paid out on. If not it will just put your insurance up as well as paying your excess.

Mind, I'd just get that touched up meself.
