The daughter ordered a guitar nearly four months ago, but because of these regulations she is still waiting for it to be delivered. She's just received yet another email saying that delivery has been put back until the 15 September.

These are the details.

And it applies to any guitar that contains the specified wood, even if it is being carried in personal luggage from place to place. You could still be asked to provide evidence of where the wood in the guitar originated even within the EU. So be careful if you buy something in the US or elsewhere and want to bring it home.

You still have to prove provenance from what I understand. It seems a bit like ivory.

Sounds like an important policy to have. Not sure why it's "rubbish".

Because it's taking months to let a guitar through. How half baked must a policy be if a single guitar with very little rosewood in it, is held up for four months and counting?

Might be sitting on a goldmine here, my tanglewood acoustic is made of rosewood.

You can only sell it to someone in your own country so that reduces the number of potential buyers at a stroke. Alternatively you hand over your guitar and dosh to a third party and let them sell it for you.
