Cirkin

Intent is clearly to stop the player though, not the ball, he's not on the half turn looking to run - he just tries to stop the player.
Mate that replay is in slow motion. In real life time it’s less than a second. The lad has knocked it past him and then ran into him (bought the foul). It probably is a foul, but as long as I have a hole in my arse that is not a yellow!

What's that got to do with whether he committed a foul? You do know you're allowed to not move out of the way of someone running at you, don't you?
You can clearly see that Cirkin put his arm out and moved to his right to stop him. But not reckless and not really a yellow even.

So any time a player knocks the ball way out to one side, the runs directly into the defender, doesn't even try to get on the end of the ball which went to other side to his run, leads with the elbow, and goes down is a yellow? It's a foul I agree, but never a yellow.

If you agree it's a foul then surely the yellow can be justified on the basis of that foul preventing a potentially dangerous attack from developing. I'm assuming that's why Cirkin is blocking him off instead of turning the other way.

The right arm coming out is a bit problematic too. It's instinctive from Cirkin but it's clear what his intentions were.

It's absolutely a yellow like. Cirkin has no intent to do anything but stop the man and man is breaking. Its the kind of professional foul you take a yellow to stop an attack, unfortunately on this occasion he's already on a yellow.

Justified if the ref also gives yellows for about 5 of their fouls. The lad nocks it to the right and runs straight ahead. He's looking for contact and knew he'd never get his own knock on. It's not a yellow in my opinion

This ^ 100% a yellow Cirkin knew exactly what he was doing . Good on him he stopped a dangerous attack and we held on for the win.

No chance. Watch Man City’s midfield chase the ball down whenever they lose it. They close the man and not the ball. Give loads of free kicks in exactly the same way and never - ever receive a yellow for it. Fouls yes, yellows no. Refs coming here either wish to be centre of attention or want to prove they are impartial infront of the largest crowd most will ever perform in front of. Weak as piss refereeing.

Can you appeal second yellow? Only seen highlights but doesn’t look to be a yellow. He would only miss one game but still every game important now
