Cirkin

Mate you can’t be serious? Just watch the video in slow motion man. Chong is the one who knew exactly what he was doing man Cirkin hasn’t moved

Bang on. People can’t be for real man

Did you watch it live or are you basing your opinion from a five second video? I hope it's not the latter if you're asking others to be serious.

'Cirkin hasn't moved' - really?

Sorry mate most of that means nothing to me, I'm old school, I watch players play then decide from there. 🙂

It means he's not good at passing but is good at defending.

I've just had a baby and everything is about percentiles. Basically if a player is 100 on one of those they're the best in the division at it. If they're <1 they're the worst.

It was. Hardly anyone would be questioning it were it their full back blocking Roberts.
I would not expect Roberts to smash their fullback in the face with his arm first.
Hi. My first thought on this was that the first contact in the collision was Chong's forearm to Cirkin's face. As soon as that happens, all other bets are off, aren't they? Even if Cirkin is intending to stop Chong, the elbow to the face is the first offence and it's reckless and dangerous.
Exactly this.

I watched it live yes mate. Watch it back on video and how can you possibly say Cirkin has done anything to stop the lads run

Cirkin moves to the left and gets squared up, so he shifts his body weight back to stop Chong progressing.

He is still inconsistent, mainly due to the stop start nature of his game time this season. Seems to be ready to kick on, then picks up an injury or a red card.

Really hope next season he can put together 40 consecutive games and we could have a player on our hands.

Can't question his commitment, just look at those goals he got when it was almost guaranteed he would get absolutely clattered.

What would you have seen him do ideally? Throw himself out of the Chongs way? Is it different to the numerous times you’ve seen Roberts or Amad knock the ball past a CB and then run into them? The CB usually ‘held their ground’, was Cirkin different?

At the game I was directly behind Cirkin when he & Chong came together, Cirkin didn’t move but as it was on the halfway line it was too far to away to make judgment. Having seen it on replay I think it should have been a sending off for Chong, absolute cowards challenge, elbowing him in the face while running straight into him.

He probably did the right thing in the circumstances (short of winning the ball or preventing getting himself square on in the first place) - that doesn't stop it being a foul though.

He got beaten, he took his punishment. It happens.

Ref completely got this wrong, it wasn't obstruction as Cirkin didn't move left or right. Chong ran into him with and broke his nose, potentially.

Retrospective red for Chiong and a rescinded yellow for Cirkin. IF the club don't appeal then, I guess i'm wrong.

You aren't allowed to appeal

Yellows have never been rescindable.

That's two red cards we've had this season where our player was actually assualted and injured, but got a red card. The one with Embleton at Hull was a bit more questionable, though there is no doubt that the Hull player careered into him and that was what caused his foot to flip up and catch the Hull player, who then made a meal of it and the referee was conned by seeing Embleton apparently kick him.

But the Cirkin one was an out and out assault by Chong. He never made any attempt to get around Cirkin, just deliberately ran straight at him with arms upraised. There was no way Cirkin could get out of his way. He got a bloodied nose and then a second booking for his troubles. The actions of Chong immediately afterwards as he got up and waved an imaginary card towards the ref show his intentions, and then he turned towards the bench and gave a fist pump to indicate he'd achieved his goal - disgraceful, he should be banned for that alone!
