Cirkin

I am a bit on the fence with the red, in as much as I don’t blame the ref too much. The Birmingham player has the opportunity to run around Cirkin, he doesn’t he runs directly at him, he instigates the contact. He also goes in with his forearm up and then pleads for a card to be brandished. Both are bookable offences anyhow so he should have at least one himself
He clearly knew what he was doing and the player has conned the ref
I'm on the fence with the offence :) , but it's a second yellow, so from the ref's perspective it's fair game.

Imagine waiting for your decision when ordering a meal

;)

I honestly can’t see how anyone can believe that’s a yellow card. Chong starts running to Cirkin’s right, Cirkin starts moving to his left so as to not commit the foul. Chong then reached an elbow away from his body to smash Cirkin in the face and throw himself to the floor  It’s comical how anyone can believe that’s a foul and a yellow card. How many times have you seen Amad or Roberts run into a CB and the ref waves get up? Kicking a ball past someone and running into them isn’t a foul man:lol:

Cirkin knew exactly what he was doing. Some really naive posts in this thread.

It was. Hardly anyone would be questioning it were it their full back blocking Roberts.
The attacker is less than 2 yards away from Cirkin and sprints directly towards him with his elbow raised.

How is Cirkin even meant to get out the way at that speed and such a short distance?

Cirkin sticks his arm up to stop Chong progressing.

He's done him. He knows it. He has two options...

Turn and try and match him for pace or stand there, create an obtacle and get a booking.
He can stay where he was standing, nothing in the rules to say he has to move to let the other player go past him. Their player played for it and the ref fell for it. He actual fouled cirkin first my hitting him in the face

Hi. My first thought on this was that the first contact in the collision was Chong's forearm to Cirkin's face. As soon as that happens, all other bets are off, aren't they? Even if Cirkin is intending to stop Chong, the elbow to the face is the first offence and it's reckless and dangerous.

Is a way of looking at it, but not the way I saw it. Chong knocked the ball past Cirkin, and, knowing he was beaten for pace, Cirkin stopped Chong's progression with a pretty cynical block.

All the talk of Cirkin not having to get out of the way is completely correct, but that generally applies when a player is stationary, and that's not what happened yesterday.

Mate you can’t be serious? Just watch the video in slow motion man. Chong is the one who knew exactly what he was doing man Cirkin hasn’t moved
Can we just sign a quick winger next season, and have them knock the ball past the full back and run into them?

They’d be sent off after a couple of minutes every game. Easy.
Bang on. People can’t be for real man

I’m still at a loss to how that’s a foul by Cirkin. And that Chong is a twat for waving the invisible card. Disgusting little cheat.
