Cirkin

Stood that tricky RW lad up well. No diving in , which considering he was right in front of South stand would have been easy for him to have done if he didnt have head screwed on.

It’s very early days and time is on his side but I think given the hype people would be kidding themselves if they weren’t slightly disappointed so far.

I thought at Burton he showed a couple of glimpses with a decent first touch and his movement but his distribution has been disappointing so far. He’s had a few opportunities in time and space to deliver good balls into the box and he’s not done it. You’d hope that quality would be there without full match fitness.

I like it when he plays though as he gives us balance and it allows Neil to play in midfield. Hopefully it’s a case of getting up to speed and fitness in adult football. The jump from 23s to this is huge.

He is a good player and miles better than Hume. He looks quick, strong and good in the air. People of remembering two bad crosses but he put in a cracking cross in the first half

I don’t rate Hume but based on Cirkin’s performances so far I don’t think he’s shown anything to suggest he’s ‘miles better’ that him.

Just need to switch to a wedge rather than a 7 iron to put the cross onto the pen spot.
He likes to play golf!

At the same age, Hume was doing what? Was he starting games for us (or anyone) or getting called up to international age group squads? I was (and still am) a huge fan of Hume, but, Cirkin is better at 19 and recovering from Covid than Hume is at 23. By the time Cirkin is 21 the difference will be cavernous.

Still finding his feet , much like Stewart an Winchester did last season. A few numpties on here wrote those 2 off , lets give the lad a chance, he has shown in glimpses that he has real talent.

About his 3rd or 4th first team game after not playing much last season yet people write him off. He’s going to be a top player for us no doubt about it

I thought that Wycombe targeted him early in the game with big diagonal balls particularly. He won his share but obviously lost some as well.
His defensive work improved as the game went on , and call me old fashioned I believe defensive quality is the most important in that position.
Forward passes were so/so but they will come, let’s not forget or underestimate this is big jump for the boy.
Early judgement on him is a bit harsh, give the lad a decent number of games and then make a decision.

He done no harm, got up and down. Defensively solid. Needs to work on final ball. He'll come good. There's a reason he's in the England Youth Squads.
This is a perfect assessment, I think because he had a few wayward final balls, people think that he played badly yesterday when I completely disagree. Defensively sound, good interplay, yes a few crosses were off the pace but I think he was solid and will continue to be reliable as the season goes on.

People on here who write off players after only 3 or 4 appearances especially 19 or 20 year old lads who have only just started to play men's football get right on my f***ing tits. Seriously have a word with yourself man you just come across as a clueless kneejerk wanker.

This lad is incredibly highly rated has been through a totally awful time personally losing his father at such a young age has just recovered from covid and moved hundreds of miles from home

Give the lad a few months to settle in and at least a full season before you judge him ffs. The OP is a tit

I think there are loads of positives with regards Cirkin, but I need to ask why so many think he looks solid defensively? Kaikai had the beating of him time and time again in the first half yesterday, and his injury second half may have been a blessing.

Is he fully fit?
No

Even not fully fit is he better than McFadzean?
Undoubtedly. So he's an improvement on last season.

Even not fully fit is he better than a fit Hume?
Defensively yes, attack-wise shows potential.
Worth remembering that he's younger than Hume and that a few Championship clubs were sniffing around Hume last season.

Is he the finished article?
No but will improve as he recovers fitness and at 19 should continue to develop.

Given he's not fit and hasn't played a lot of games he looks a hell of a prospect.
