Cirkin - Hamstring Injury

Alese will just cover at LB or LCB until Cirkin is fit, even Gooch or Onien can drop in there if we're desperate.

Injuries to key players happen at every club and its a right bastard when it does, but theres no need to be losing our shit over it. You'd say any team is having some bad luck they'd lost their equivalent players in Stewart, Cirkin and Ballard.

Our first season back in the championship after 4 year is going to see us get tested as a squad and this looks like our first tough test...we'll just have to try and battle through it.
O'Nien is already covering for Ballard though. And he's a booking away from suspension.
He was actually signed as an attacking midfielder. Anyone that watches football can see he’s a far better defender than midfielder, no matter what the club say.
He's your classic utility man. A Jack of all trades, master of none.

Wright comes in for him then. Oniens done well, but Wright always gets picked before him for me. Onein is canny for that utility role.

What side in this league has a 2nd or 3rd choice that's better than their first choice?

We've lost two of our first choice back three. Wright is an experienced international and Alese is a young CB that West Ham fans were unhappy about losing. If we keep with a three, then that's what we've got to go with.

I hope the team have more backbone than some of our fans on here.

 Training for it and doing it on match day are worlds apart

We didn't even plan for when Ballard got injured, O'nien was put in as a makeshift defender because Alese has never played on the right side. Now Cirkin os injured some on here want to switch O'nien over to cover him, you couldn't make it up.
So the training is no good then? We can't play them because they haven't played in the league before😁 yeah right!

Its absolutely ludicrous nonsense to say that a player cannot play 'position x', because he's a disaster there, yet the only evidence you have of him playing there, are an incredibly limited amount of games - and bits of games, where he's moved there - and we won 2 of them 5-0, and he got 2 assists in of them.

Gooch has gone from zero to hero in four days - Lee Johnson 2 assists and a superb performance against Morecambe, from left back.

Quite frankly it's a miracle anyone ever makes their debut

I’d like to be shocked, but I’m not. Same with refusing to go for a 3rd choice striker.
Not sure we could attract anyone decent with two solid starters up top. We need a bridges type, young and not expecting starts but impressive.

Totally agree in all fairness, still think we should’ve brought someone in though or took a punt on loan if it was possible.

Well thats Hume left back in a 3-5-1-1 formation.
It’s starting to look like Hume isn’t rated - not even making the bench at times - overlooked by 2 managers now( or maybe 3 - not sure if he was signed under LJ).

I'm fine 73, at least my windows didn't go in here on Teeside. Got my work cut out this week, what with injuries and the players fighting over the tomato ketchup.
Pritch saying he's sick of getting subbed and Roberts moaning about not getting played wide.

Think the problem Hume has is the versatility in the squad. He'd be in for Gooch in that RWB role, or RB if we go four at the back, but if you're talking about changes with 10/20 minutes left we've seen Gooch drop back to RB with a winger coming on ahead of him, O'Nien could cover RB, Wright has covered RB, or Dajaku/Roberts have come on as a more attacking option when we look to push on and have had the RCB covering.

Starting a game, say if Gooch had an issue, I think he'd be in the side, but all managers seem to go for more versatility from the bench.
