Cirkin back to Spurs?

His father died whist he was at Spurs and he wanted to get away to start fresh and play football. I don't think he'd want to go back there tbh.

If he continues to play well, he'll have offers from other clubs or he may just enjoy being where he is now.

He’s a good player and he’s progressing well. I wouldn’t be surprised if Spurs bought him back. It won’t be happening any time soon though. I’d be amazed if anyones was interested in him for near the 6 million mark at this stage.

He has to accept any move, and if someone was buying me with the hope to sell me to a random club straight away, I wouldn’t care how much the wages were. If he is happy in the NE and playing, I can’t see him accepting unless the buying club is known and too good to turn down. This is a key period in his career/development.

This exactly.

I’m not so sure. Presumably this would come with a reasonable signing on fee at Spurs, then progression onto another club for another signing on fee and probably an inflated wage package, especially if it’s a lower PL club or one of the newly relegated ones in the championship that are on the parachute payments.

End of the day, it is also the lads livelihood and he could stand to make a lot more money than he would here. Don’t forget he also has no loyalty to us like we do.

Currently his value doesn't stand at something which would make that worthwhile to Spurs in the short term. If his value was that high then he'd cut his own deal wherever he wanted to go. 6m release fee or not hes not a slave to Spurs.

As others have stated, we only managed to get him because his dad passed and he wanted a fresh start, I also remember reading him mam was up north, not sure where (York area?) but if all of this is true, it will really depend on whether he is ready to go back to London or not. His assessment of his first season with us in the summer was glowing, he probably really likes it up here.

"The North London club surprisingly let him go and could pull off another shock by bidding to bring him back.

However, that may be part of an elaborate move to sign Dublin-born Cirkin and then sell him soon after to a rival."

Is nixon suggesting spurs want to buy him back, just to sell him again?
So basically Nixon was bored and made this up to fill a gap

His mum is in Gosforth along with Dennis and both are perfectly happy here.

Lazy unsubstantiated journalism. As good as he's been, he's miles off being a premier league defender. Only reason they'd be interested now is if the clause expires this summer which it won't.
I don't think he's miles off being a PL defender if I'm honest. He's nowhere near top 6 level though so Spurs would probably just be wanting to sell him on for a big profit or stick him on their bench 1 in 5 games.

Does make you wonder a bit about the nature of these deals we've cut; if there's a low buy-back figure it almost feels like something between a loan and a permanent deal. It's quite clever from the selling club really as they get money up front and pass on risk to the buying club and the only real risk to them is they have to pay the relatively meagre difference between the sale and buy-back price. And then if they immediately sell on the player elsewhere for a larger fee, that covers that loss and more really.

We know Levy so I would be surprised if a similar deal wasn't also in place with Clarke.

Theres a possibility that cirkin doesnt want to leave however i do get the vibe hes really happy here and wouldnt leave here not to play.

Just hope he is happy here and isn't interested in moving to another side!
id imagine moving to a championship league club in london where he is from is a pretty strong pull like

if we end up with a profit on the deal and having had him in a team that got promoted..its a very good deal for safc..
