Not necessarily. Most Hobbits averaged about 90-100 years, though there were exceptions... The Old Took lived to 130 and Bilbo surpassed him at 131 ( but he did cheat a bit being a ringbearer).

Did they ever sort out the wrangle over the future of the books? IIRC Christophers son was very keen to cash in on them and sell everything in the estate to film makers, so Christopher threatened to disinherit him and leave it all to an estate trust

Sold them to Disney iirc. Were getting three spinoffs, a few Netflix in-cannon mini series (including the much awated Tom Bombadil-bounty hunter) , a whole new set of prequels and a cross over with star wars.

In fairness they are the same story. Plucky farm boy / backwater yokel picked up by old wizard. Fight evil, little bit of magic, weird looking creatures, no hope, then at the darkest hours the farm boy save the day.
