Christian its all about me speakman

Your initial post mentioned promotion as if it was a huge achievement, it wasn't as it was varese minimum expectation.

I've agreed previously that we've brought some promising youngsters in, starting to look like it's built on sand. We had a huge opportunity last season and whilst the team sweated blood to achieve it appears those in charge didn't match them.
On a serious note what does that second point even mean? So the players bought by Speakman did well for us and it’s Speakmans fault the players he signed did so well for us ?

If the money isn't available from the owner for these proven strikers to be brought in then how does this fix this?

Also the second point is pure rubbish. Name me some clubs who let their manager pick all the players?
Stoke

That’s not within Speakmans control. He doesn’t control the budget, he’s there to buy the players within the available budget

Those he has bought have generally been very good. And are worth more than when purchased

We’re really not that far away from McFazdean, Flanagan, Power, Scowen etc time wise
You're explaining that to a bloke who wears, or used to wear, a wrestling mask to the match. It won't sink in.

WTF? Why on earth would that matter?

We’re a championship club who finished in the play offs last season
Maybe because the revenue is higher the longer you’re in this league? Maybe because we are still lumbered with paying wages to players from league one we can’t move on ?

The club could have cashed in on some of our good players then we would have been able to spend ? Is this what you’d rather ?

Yes I understand it, just wondering how the likes of stoke can spend far more than us ?
They might have owners who believe in themselves and their model and are willing to "speculate to accumulate"

imagine taking a league 1 team to promotion and then sixth in the league above and then some knobhead saying you've failed.
He didn't do that, it was Alex Neil (not part of 'the project') and Tony Mowbray. Anything else he has done is another matter, and he has played his part, but we wouldn't need a coach or manager if Speakman was responsible. Whoever fulfills his role at Manchester City doesn't get the praise that goes to Guardiola. There are glaring shortcomings in our squad which have been there since before we were promoted and they aren't being addressed, criticism of him for that isn't unfair.

Who's the Head Physio called?

There's been a thread about everyone else so might aswell chip another name in the hat to blame.

Suppose he likes to take the limelight when things are going well. Only fair he takes flack when it's not and it's probably down to him.

The striker situation is appalling, but then again maybe top brass have said no to a sensible striker budget and it's just not possible?
