Chris Young: De Guzman isn't interested in Sunderland move..

My hunch is that we'll start September with the same squad, and no head coach and DoF.

Advocaat strongly hinted that he'll walk if we don't bring in 2-3 quality players, and that it's not Congerton's fault if we don't. You can see them heading over a cliff, Thelma and Louise style.

It has been an absolutely catastrophic summer.
It's only 26th August man ffs

It doesn't matter whether you give a fuck or not. Not many managers are" happy" with their playing staff. They all want more. It's pretty standard stuff.

They all want more but all have had some success in their requests. Dick asked for 5 quality players. He has been rewarded with 1 or 2. That's why people and Dick are frustrated.

Not many have come out like dick has, there is more frustration there than any other manager.

Well it's clearly 2. If either Lens or M'Vila is not classed as quality then people are going to be very, very disappointed,

Yes but our needs are greater than all of the others. For an example as things stand can you honestly think of three teams that will likely finish below us ?

I will take your word that the other managers have had success in their requests, as I have no information on that, but Dick would have known there would be no guarantees about the quality a club like Sunderland could attract. He's not daft. He has merely applied gentle pressure to release some funds. It's nothing more than that IMHO.

Yes and he wanted 5or 6 and that was before he witnessed the debacle this season has brought.

Funny how his colleague at the echo tweeted the deal was inching closer only 5 hours ago!

Journalism really does cease to exist in these here parts.....
not sure journalism exists anywhere now marra, from what we see *reported* it looks like they just trawl the Internet for any stories they can find, including here, and just recycle them.

No, we are fucked. Iam not denying that. I just don't think there is that much we can do about it, given the funds and the perceived status of the club.

Apart from the early league form, I prefer to see the positives in this situation. We have a manager who, unlike his predecessors, isn't willing to settle for mediocrity, and is pushing the owner as far as he can to bring in the players we need to take the club away from yet another relegation fight. Much of what he has said has been slightly misinterpreted too, I think. A couple more signings over the line by the end of the window and all will be well. :)

Dick keeps mentioned the lack of expenditure on quality players. That's why I omitted Mvila, even still, that is 2 players. We have been atrocious this season, so far.

Two bad games largely down to his own tactics and team selection?

I'll wait until 1800hrs on Tuesday to see what squad he's been given as clubs like us often have to wait and wait before the quality is allowed to leave and will agree to join.

Another know nothing dick head just having a guess at the situation. Really embarrassing when one of them is saying he's coming and one is saying he isn't. They are absolutely clueless. Sports journalists in the north east are absolutely f***ing useless.

I don't know why we'd omit loan players, especially ones with an option to buy? To me it suggests you have an angle that you want to push.

I Am simply quoting what DA has said many times. I said 1, maybe 2. That isn't an angle, it's fact. We have not bought in half of the players that our manager said was essential to our PL survival. That is just not good enough.

Yet. Another couple, which is possible, before the deadline and we'll have done OK.

Brexit, how can he be responsible for the pathetic performances by Jones, PVA, Kaboul,Cattermole, Rodwell, Coates and probably others against Leicester and the same amount of under performers against Norwich ?
If you have two or three players who are not doing it then the manager can do something about it, when there are seven or eight players not doing it the manager is fecked.
Don't forget the comments Cattermole made after the Norwich game which suggests to me that the problem was amongst the players not playing for each other, how could the manager cater for that ?

The same way he catered for it in the Swansea game?

He left his full backs high and dry in the first two games with no support, played 2-4-4 second half against Norwich and picked two unfit central defenders with O'Shea on the bench. There were some poor performances but he contributed massively. Glad he seen the error of his ways and changed it on Saturday.
