With the direction that Newcastle are going in, Rigg is extremely unlikely to ever play any sort of first team football with them as regardless of talent, he will constantly be behind new big money signings and would most likely bounce around on loan after loan after loan.

It would be career suicide, but money talks.
Players can have shit careers and end up very rich.

They need to do what City have and develop a huge academy offering. Look at Foden, and now they also have Cole Palmer, and Rico Lewis coming through.

Does any club in the land offer young players the pathways to the first team we do? We are developing our own and also injecting a new lease of life into players deemed not quite good enough (yet) to play in the premier league.

Tough one he’s given a million pound contract he’s set up for life and one bad injury and he could be done. The kid himself wants to stay it’s his family that’s the issue

Well that depends how good he is. If he’s outstanding, he’d play there. Just have to look at Foden at City, Rashford at Man United, Mount at Chelsea, Elliott and Alexander Arnold at Liverpool. The cream always rises to the top.

He's 15 and he's probably not far away from being on the outskirts of our match squads. He may even make his debut today. Hopefully he sees that he has a clear route to 1st team involvement here over the next year or 2, and hope that's enough to hold onto him.

I agree, if he goes there he'll sit in their youth team and then end up on various loans as he gets pushed down the pecking order by the latest blood-money galactico.

The mags are up against pretty much every big side in the country if they want to poach Rigg. He's been linked to Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea that I know of.

Only Chelsea would be a worse move for the kid. Saying that obviously I hope he stays. If he stays fit his future would undoubtedly be best served here.

Rigg is starting to get amongst the first team set up now. If he's as good as they say hopefully, the likes of Ballard, Cirkin, Clarke and Roberts have told him what's its like when you go into these big clubs and disappear amongst the numbers. I'd hope the lad is now staring to see his hard work pay off and his route to first team football is in sight.
