I think he's not 21s squad because he'll be at school...

Probably will be involved vs Shrewsbury
The school he goes to (St Josephs) doesnt go back till Monday. Hes not in the U21 squad because hes been training with the first team and has a real good chance of starting on Saturday. Even when the schools go back, id say theyd allow him to go to training and then come back and catch up/later lessons etc.

Speaking to an academy player today and according to him Rigg doesn’t want to go anywhere.

Loves it at Sunderland, has grown up with a lot of players and knows he’s got a very good chance to get 1st team games a lot sooner than anywhere else.

But again money talks 🥴

Hopefully the people around him outside of the club recognise where his best interests are at least for a few more years at least. I would love to see him play against Shrewsbury, so far I've only seen the extended highlites video of him and heard people around here (Jarrow/Hebburn absolutely raving about the lad).

He will get day release once a week from school. Shouldn’t really be out much more than that, it’s a big school year.

Nice feedback mate.

I'd certainly have him on the bench and once game won get him on. Important we win first and foremost and include young players as part of a wining side.

Just read somewhere he making his debut at Shrewsbury on sataurday.good luck to the lad I've not seen him play but other people have told me he is talented.

Anything can happen at football. NOBODY can afford to throw away their education.
Absolutely this. Often debated with youth football of "well he won't need it, he'll be a pro/millionaire... As long as he can read and write"...the journey doesn't always work out unfortunately.
