If we somehow keep hold of him can see him being in the 1st team by the time he's 18. Looks like a brilliant player. Tbf the 2 lads up top who he was creating the chances for look like good players aswell, some decent finishes from them
One of those uptop is my mates son. His finishing is so cool and calm. He plays the Stewart role. Rigg is going to be a top top player if he continues his current projectorey he has the lot
How old is he?
Just turned 15. He’s played for the under 18’s last season

We have to show him theres a clear pathway into the first team. If he continues to develop he could be part of the first team squad by the time hes 16/17 and that must be a good bargaining tool for us. No good going to the PL and sitting in their youth teams til you're 20 not getting senior games.

Presumably he’ll be ready for an academy u18 contract either this summer or next, depending on his birthday.

If he signs that we will have some security in terms of compensation.

As much as he looks a great prospect and someone who we would love to step up to our first team the reality is that should any of the big clubs come in for him then he will be away like many young prospects have done before him. I hope he stays like I do all of our young players who shine, but in reality we stand no chance if/when the big guns come calling.

The kid has a long way to go but he seems to have the lot.. strength, pace, vision, composure, positioning, touch, a hell of a tackle (although he’ll need to stop going to ground so often), an accurate shot… not a bad tool box. If anyone needs me I’ll be in the yard with a ball

That's not a matter of fact mind.

Will be playing for the u23s after christmas. Positive he already trained with them on occasions but wouldnt be surprised if he leaves next summer after being on the bench for the first team to raise compensation figures if it goes to a tribunal.

He is still a kid. There are a load of considerations to be made before he ups sticks and moves to Manchester or London. School, friends, family. Even at 17 whem he can sign a professional contract (assuming our offer is reasonably competitive), he may prefer to stay closer to home and move when he's a bit older. That's how I would have felt. I'm sure he and his family will weigh these things up.
