Chris Martin - Signed by QPR

He would have, but it's no good getting a labourer in when you need a brain surgeon.
If watching him tonight wasn't proof enough to know that we were right not signing him, I don't know what is.
Tbf I think our two centre backs make a lot of decent players look ordinary or in Carroll's case redundant ! Both will score a few between now and the end of the season but we have this fluidity that gets around the #9 problem for now, we are still creating and scoring goals so should just enjoy what we have rather than what we don't imo.

Andras Nemeth. He said last week, words to the effect of, "I had a very concrete offer from Sunderland but I made the decision to come to Hamburg because I think the project here is better for me and my development.”

Massive disappointment to miss out on that one, mind but if that's the calibre of striker that Speakman is aiming for, (as long as one or two come off, eventually), I'll leave him to it, rather than signing a Chris Martin, Andy Carrol et al.
He's the one I'd wished we'd got, not someone with one foot in the retirement home.
Absolutely. He looks special from what little I've seen of him, admittedly.

Went to Germany as opposed to staying there.

Can't really be blamed. Hamburg regularly play in front of over 50,000 and have the highest average wage bill of any team outside the top four divisions (Premier, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga) in Europe, with an average of a little under €20,000 per week. Add to that, that they're shoe-ins your promotion and you can't really argue.
