Chop sauce

Was it always made by Hammond’s. I think it may have been a make on it’s own then taken over or saved by Hammond’s.
I dont think it’s popular in Yorkshire where it’s made.

Ignore the above. Just checked and it’s been made by them since 1933. In fact it was their only brand at one time.

I'm all out and need some urgently, where stocks it?
Nee proper answer yet? I'm on the dregs of my last bottle and cannot find it anywhere?

The last time there was the 'Great Chop Sauce Drought', I would call into corner shops and supermarkets all over, as I drove past them or went on a Chop Sauce hunt. I had no joy for weeks, then I called into one in Grindon, which I had never tried. To my total surprise, I saw loads of bottles on a shelf. Inside, my excitement went crazy and I bought the lot and told the lad serving, how much I had searched and how this shop has saved my life. I had 15 bottles, the famine was over for a long while, for me.

I cannot be going through that Chop Sauce drought again.

What do you put chop sauce on? You're a veggie.

The Hammond's factory in Yorkshire shut down (burned down?) a few years ago, and it was a few months before it was reintroduced from a factory in Lancashire.. The label changed as it was no longer Yorkshire chop sauce. Some people reckoned the recipe changed a little at the time.

At my son's house in Southampton recently he didn't have any chop sauce but the Asda own brand brown sauce did taste quite similar, just a little sweeter.

Morrisons 👌

Has to be Hammond's Chop Sauce.
No where near as good as it used to be but still far superior to HP and Daddies.
While back I had some own brand brown sauce, think it might have been Lidl's. It was approaching Chop Sauce but still slightly inferior.
Whenever I'm back in the UK I try to smuggle back a bottle or three of Chop Sauce, along with the proper bacon that makes my breakfast sarnies. The bacon here in France is nice but, it's sliced so thin that it turns into shrapnel the minute it hits the (again smuggled in) hot lard in the frying pan.
