What a race!

What a season this is shaping up to be!

Gerrin there Lewis, great drive! And well done Webber too!

on the subject of DRS wtf was Alonso playing at? as the cars red tho they'll surely just claim a system glitch and get away with it

We all know if it was Hamilton he would have been given a penalty.

Was a great spot by BBC

used the DRS outside of the zone

he's not being penalized tho because it was apparently an error and he gained no advantage

as above if it was Hamilton he'd have probably been DQ'd by now

Gained no advantage yet shortly after he overtook Schumi and finished less than half a second ahead of him. Hamilton may not have been disqualified but he certainly would've got a twenty second penalty shoving him back to sixth moving Massa in his Ferrari up a spot.

I wonder how many drivers will turn theirs on when chasing close behind someone now?

It was 'enabled' (don't know why DC insists on saying "deployed" it's not a missile) for less than a second. Clearly a software error or he did it by mistake.

I still don't like the sulky bastard

it's driver activated, Alonso turned it on himself. Accident or not the FIA have set a dangerous precedent letting him get away with it especially in a sport where thousandths of a second can prove crucial from one corner to the next

 how can you not gain an advantage in using something that's designed to make you go faster!

dc scary message comment:lol:

Actually burst out laughing at that

On a par with horse racing.

Only if the shoot the cars that don't do well ;)

Apparently a glitch meant that it didn't come on for the first 300 yards on the activiation area, so he was inconvenienced in reality.
I'd be suprised if he actually pressed the button on the exist of that corner though, would have been very easy to lose the back end.

He lost time, if anything & the even if he did press the button, its not supposed to work - so not his fault and no advantage = no penalty.

Must say, I don't even recall a better dry GP ever. And it wasn't really anything to do with KERS or DRS. Yeh, they helped a bit, but it was all about who was the fastest over each 5 lap mini-session when they could go flat out.

Absolutely brilliant from start to end.

Mind, I've been thinking that starting on the Prime types, and keeping back Options for when the track is rubbered in would be the best long term strategy for ages - fair enough you'd lose 2-3 places off the start, and 2-3 on the grid, but look at Webber.
Now with KERS and DRS, you won't get held up by the slower cars.

But if you had to 3 stop and a safety car came into it you could be fked...
