Fountain Garden with an honourable mention to Ming Garden in Silky. For me it’s the one cuisine they do better South of the water.

We must just generally have shit Chineses in the SR postcode area though cos we got one after the match in a vulgar looking area of Doncaster after the match this season and it was the best I have ever had, and everyone in the car agreed. Far better than owt served up on Wearside.

Happy Valley on Ettrick Grove is the best Chinese in Sunderland and has been for a very long time.

David in gmts is my go to Chinese. Not so keen on fountain gardens. Not been in happy valley since the 80’s

Exactly Maxims was my local as a kid with George.

GMTS is the closest to how it was there and the wontons are the daddy

The Standard in Seaham is fantastic best Singapore chow mein I've ever had but a bit to far away. fountain garden is the one I use but collection only....

I have only ever ordered Chicken Egg Foo Yung, rice, chips & a carton of curry sauce. The best hang-over cure ever, apart from maybe savaloy dips.
