It's going to be interesting to see what happens in China over the next few months as they abandon thier "zero Covid" policy. A big increase in domestic cases and deaths are certain but the danger will be if a new strain spreads around the world.

We could do that, but everyone would just get a diversion flight & i'm convinced by our performance in the pandemic that our government hasn't got the resources, will or competence to check.
