Chess

Samurai Chess

I beat some good players after reading that book.

I bought that when I was eight (I taught myself to play when I was five) - Was that the one that has the tag line mastering the martial art of the mind and quotes Sun Tzu and a lot of Myamoto Musashi?

Regarding chess tips - try and find examples in books like this where they ask you what move comes next. Also read about how Kasparov beat Deep Blue (where he literally strangled it of moves)

Also something what really helped me was knowing your openings - Gambits especially. Can really fuck with lesser opponents.

Think of chess in terms of trench warfare and build an impregnable defence. Ask what your opponent is trying to achieve with every single move they make and the timing they use.
