Chernobyl -sky Atlantic

Went there on Sunday. Facisinating place to Visit. Never been anywhere that was so quiet and creepy.

Learnt a lot really. It could have been so much worse if it wasn’t for some heroic people. The second blast which they prevented could have wiped out the majority of Europe

There's a massive dome over the plant now? Like the Simpsons movie?

Watched the sky documentary on it. On history or nat geo or summit. It was a spider pig short of a good film
There's been a few documentaries on this, from Seconds to Disaster on Nat Geo to the latest one I've seen, Impossible Engineering on the channel called Yesterday, which focuses on the building of the dome. Even though it's such a tragedy, it's also extremely fascinating

I bet it's incredibly eerie, especially the funfair

It was. The funfair wasn’t even officially open. Was due to open a week after the disaster. Same as the sports stadium which had trees just growing on the pitch now.

The most eerie bit was the school. All the textbooks were still on the desks, the blackboard still had the writing on and there were footballs and tennis rackets still in the gym.

Also went to a kindergarten which still had dolls and shoes lying around. Mental place

Yeah, was surprising to know that it was only put on there back in 2016. As already mentioned it was build just a few hundred years away then moved over it. Was very interesting

Untouched for 33 years. It has to be the ultimate incarnation of a ghost town on the planet

The town is Pripyat isn't it? Can you see the reactor from the town?

Yeah it is. The surprising thing was that was still some running buildings in the town: the water station for the area and the laundry for the power plant. Couldn’t see the reactor from there but the town was full of sky rise apartments. Was about a 10 minute drive as well
