this. love 28 days later me. Me and a couple of mates have done a few places round the NE, only with cheap point and press cameras like

the ushaw college ones are great
took a lass up the ushaw college( WEY HEY! ) a few weeks ago and even though ive visitted parts of it with school trips and that, it is amazing how large it all is, keep finding new buildings that id never known about ( despite being there / passing it so many times)

Class. If you go there to take photos do you have to wear certain stuff or just be wary of how long you spend there?

I went there for a 'day trip' when Scotland played Ukraine in 2007.

We had to wear long sleeves and trousers, the place itself ia quite eerie, there was a brand new play area for the workers kids with dodgems and ferris wheels etc which was just left when the incident happened, must have been mega state of the art for 25 years ago, we were lucky with swings and roundabouts where I lived!.

On the way it the place is controlled at two checkpoints iirc 25miles and 10 miles, we all had ot surrender our passports (which had been ok'd from the Ukrainian govt beforehand) we had to pass a radiation pass on entrance and exit, if for any reason you had radiation on you you would be quarantined for 24 hours.

One of the lads a fireman had a geigercounter (sp) from work and it didnt set any great amounts of radiation.
I know a few lads got their photos taken in front of the reactor for NUTS magazine .

The workers wives cooked us all a meal which was traditional Russian stuff, have to admit it was gross and hardly anyone ate it, red cabbage and lots of pickled shit. Anyhoo some had brought them presents like shortbread and stuff and there was a whip round for them, think they probably got a years wages of us!.

Scary place like
