Checkatrade attendances

exactly... is there a boycott? I appreciate crowds have been low in general in the competition but what's the story with the boycott.

Are clubs losing money, if so is it due to the boycott or is the boycott because of it and the perceived lack of respect having higher league clubs playing their kids...??

A boycott against the inclusion of PL U21 teams apparently as they feel it devalues the competition. Whilst I agree that it does, I don’t think it will massively impact on the attendances anyhow, attendances would be poor regardless.

Ultimately they are jealous and bitter that we can muster a 1,600 strong away support, midweek against Morecambe in a two bit cup competition.

This........ Lincoln fans were very vocal in their boycott last season then took over 25k to the final!!

Exactly.

Just because you don't value it does not give you the right to sit in judgement on fans who do, you are an absolute embarrassment of a fan for doing so.
Calm down pet. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And Mine is that it’s a tin pot tournament.

Are you taking this tournament seriously?
What do you mean by seriously?

I will always support my club when they are playing in any game, no matter what the tournament and no matter what the league, as would any true fan.

Do I want to win it?

I want my club to win every game they play, as would any true fan.

Would I be as upset if we didn't win a game in this tournament as compared with a league game? Then no I wouldn't as I recognise the priority of the league.

What I would never do is call other fans for showing support of the club, this is what you did. A true fan would never do this.

Very guarded answers there. I suspect you don’t. I would like SAFC to win every game as would any other fan. from the kids to the reserves to the first team win them all. Getting excited about it is different and his Mickey Mouse Cup should be put into context.

Why call our support embarrassing though? DOn't think anyone is taking it seriously, it has a pre season sort of feel to it at these games just people travelling to socialise with other fans have a few beers and a bit craic on with the locals, the vibe I get is that the result isn't really too important therefore we aren't really taking it seriously. Nothing at all embarrassing about wanting to have a day out at the footy.

I don't see anyone getting overly excited about it, what I see is our fans having fun enjoying visiting new grounds and supporting the club. After years of the shite we have been served surely you would not begrudge our fans having fun for once?

Which games do you class as not tin pot ?

I am (taking the Checkatrade seriously) just like I did with the Freight Rover in 1987.
Currently on a train somewhere between Haltwhistle and Hexham. Feel free to not be interested, feel free to boycott, but don't knock thise that get behind the club come what may.
MUPPET!
