Cheap Trick at The Cavern Club

Just back from Liverpool after seeing Cheap Trick play a one off headlining show at the Cavern Club. I have to say than in over 35 years of going to gigs, that has to be one of the very best shows I`ve ever been to.

No frills or gimmicks (apart from Rick Neilsen`s amazing guitar collection ) just bucket loads of energy, killer songs and great performances from the whole band who were well up for it all in front of 300 people in a tiny club. Absolutely brilliant.

They did Magical Mystery Tour and She Said She Said. Thought they might do a few more but would rather they did their own stuff to be honest and glad they did.

It does actually. I can't say I'm much of a Cheap Trick fan - Want You To Want Me is a class song like and Surrender's a decent tune - but a small gig like that seeing a proper band would be good I reckon.
