I wonder if they are aware of anything or just accept whatever they are given?

I'm always surprised that there isn't some form of fan consultation. Give 3 options to a selection of fans and gauge opinion. Wouldn't be hard to organise and, if it avoids an absolutely shit strip, could be quite beneficial for the club in terms of revenue rather than having to peddle them for fuck all like they seem to have to do quite regularly now

Our kit is a disgrace, minging is the correct word for it. I can’t understand how anyone could sign it off as something we would all like. I’d like to meet the designers I’m in that business and I could design far better than they could ever!

Ahh, common sense, a rare spirit in the world that is Shorts Abomination Football Club

loads of good deals to be had, good to see the store busy too. Asked a lad working there why they’re selling off so cheap and it’s a simple as they anticipated selling loads loads more early on and we’ve sold our lowest number of kits for 20 year. Suppose it makes sense to shift them.

I am amazed anyone bought the home strip

f***ing hideous

I am not in that business, and I could do better

Revenue was always going to take a massive hit after relegation. The club has had to rely on merchandise more than ever, so it beggars belief that the club took such a massive gamble on this load of shit
Refelection of the mis managememt of the club.

RAWA could do us all a favour by asking to see the wording of the shirt contract signed with Adidas. Tell Bain to put a big black marker pen through the financial details to avoid him wiggling out of it for financial reasons.
Does it give us any right of refusal over design and or colour etc? If so ask him why that right wasn’t used? Ask him whose decision that was? Etc.
We’ve got to start pinning down the sources of the last ten years stupidity. It’s for both the club and owners own good but I seriously doubt they’re intelligent enough to realise that.

Would you be surprised if Bain said yes to it? (I know he shouldnt be involved) but would it surprise you?

He was here a year before it was adopted so I’m not sure tbh. It may of already been signed off previously as I’ve no idea of the lead in times towards production etc.
I would imagine the ceo would be the one who signs it off after the owner gives it the nod. I can’t see a ceo signing it off without the owner seeing it.

Maybe he calculated

Profit on Shirt = x
Number of decent shirts sold could = Y
Number of shit shirts sold could =Z
Wages for member of staff in shop = fuck all

Lets go for option Z, we can then get rid of a number of people we are paying next to fuck all

An excellent post. For all of the pre season videos released from our esteemed owner, barmy decisions are contitually being made.
Even if, as has been said previously, the designs are chosen well in advance, it was obvious we were going to start cutting costs, as soon as Bain walked thrkugh the door and commercial revenue was going to be increasingly important. Seriously, who on earth looked at our 140 year history, the fan base and even the popularity of retro kits and then thought this would be a money spinner?
It defies belief.

IIRC Southampton did a decent job making their own kits a couple of seasons back, maybe worth doing something similar?

We'll have been just been given a run of templates this season, see the likes of Bayern Munichs kits this season for more bespoke ones by Adidas that could have worked

Even given templates, we surely couldn't have picked worse than the utter shit we currently have?
