Cheap gaming pc for £450 ?

googleboogle

Midfield
anybody point me in the right direction for spec and supplier ?

Not for me. But my lasses young un. Higher end is easier enough but lower end I am out of touch.

Needs to be new not second hand

What do you need it to run? The way to go is to probably build your own using a CPU with decent onboard graphics rather than a seperate card. Look at building around a AMD Ryzen 5 2400G if you only need it to do esports type titles

Fortnite. Gta and counter strike was mentioned.

He mentioned the 1050ti ?

Would be the best option (or a RX570) but i imagine you are stretching a bit beyond 450 quid at that point (helps if you can transplant anything)

Basic component math is

SSD 40-50 quid
Power supply 40-50 quid
Case 30-40 quid
Motherboard for AMD (because AMD processors come with none shitty coolers in the box & are cheaper & so are the boards) 70-80 quid
1050ti gpu 130quid
16 gigs of decent ram 70-80 quid

pick cpu from there, this would perform vastly better than what I suggested above but you will end in the 500-550 region likely, Ryzen 5 1600 would be a good choice at 120 quid or so

Best option is to get him to choose 5 games then build the computer to match the specs but ensure it can be upgraded when required.

I recently bought Rust on my laptop being naive thinking it would work. Little did I know how big the spec requirements for the game where. Ended up pricing everything up to build the tower myself, without any sort of high end monitor I was looking at spending between £600-£800. That put an end to that dream.

Doesnt need 16GB of ram for a 1050ti like

Could easily get away with 8 and upgrade at a later date, also dont be fooled by 3200 RAM get slower RAM the difference is marginal but will save you 50 quid

have a look on falcon computers website they have a few different options around that budget inc a warranty if your not to sure about building your own

Got the kit of amazon for £420 ish in the end

8gb. Asus gtx1060, pentium g4560 3.5, evga 500watt psu, and a asrock motherboard and a thermaltake case.

Got a 128sd sat round and a 2tb drive.

For the price none of it needs to be cutting edge. And he won’t notice it’s not amazon as it’s his first gaming pc.

This one but change the graphics card to the 6bg version comes in under £450
AWD Apex Legends 2300X Quad Core 4.0GHz GTX 1060 Desktop Gaming PC

Or this one, and change the graphics card to the 8gb version of the 570 which also comes in under £450
AWD Apex Legends 2300X Quad Core 4.0GHz GTX 1060 Desktop Gaming PC

Neither come with Windows 10 installed but buy a key from Ebay for under a fiver and install it via USB with the windows creation tool which is easy, I bought my PC from AWD and the build quality was really good, nice and tidy

I actually looked at them but it was the lead time as he want it for the weekend. If it was up to me I would have considered them.

Not sure of places to order from and receive it that quick mine took about a week I think, those are both cracking deals as well better than what I got from them and for cheaper. You might be able to get it for the weekend from Amazon maybe? Same with Argos and Very etc but doubt you'll find anything half as good

I'll have a quick look now while I'm sat here bored

Not bad, I have the g4560 paired with a 1050ti still and it runs the likes of Fortnite/Gta etc fine. Some of the newer games obviously wont run well on the highest settings etc but I'm sure he knows nowt about playing on 60fps only. I actually won a new cpu and motherboard last year but have never built a computer before, I've watched lloads of videos but never got round to it

Shame they cant wait a little longer like as those AWD deals are class

From what I can tell the 1060. Even the 3gb is about 30% faster than the 1050ti. Even though it’s newer. So hopefully he is happy enough with it.

He only has a 1080p monitor so I am sure that will do for him.

If I had more time I would have waited and even checked out the dell outlet and just bought the gpu
