Charlie Wyke

I agree, Perry. Wyke seemed like the type of signing a naive and inexperienced manager would make at this level, getting carried away with a modest goal and his physique, and thinking he'd get 20+ if we just lumped the ball to him. As you rightly point out, our signings in January were in the main a lot smarter and a lot more shrewd. Phil needs time to build the squad in his own image.
How much 'time' does he need? We cannot afford another year in this league, he's got two windows then?

Ipswich are as skint as we are. Their owner admitted he was going to struggle to refund fans for missed games. There's no chance they'll give us money for him.

Surely we should be giving them the cash....

Are all up there like
Tom Ritchie
Rod Belfitt

All corkers, plus

Ralph Brand,

Tor Andre Flo

Daniele Dichio

But poor old Charlie is the worst ...by a country mile. Has nothing, cannot figure out how he ever got into professional football. Hopeless.

Dichio? - shouldn't be anywhere near that list. Wasn't a regular starter only because he was behind Quinny in the pecking order, and when he did deputise, his goals return was very decent.
In Summerbee's recent podcast, he referred to him as a very good player.

No other club in the division will be able to offer him 50% of what he is on and so I would expect him to be going precisely no where until a) his contract runs out or gets close to expiry or b) some one in the championship comes in for him.

He's got 1 year to run on contract. Grigg got 2 left iirc.
