Chaotic trains

I saw one an hour, maybe two hours, after a game going back to Teesside stations from Sunderland. Literally scores of grade a whoppers standing in the doorways, with plenty of space for the 20 or so people left behind if they moved in to the carriages. Station staff on hand doing nothing, no announcements from them or the driver. People here are too polite. If it was a London commuter train or tube, or any other major city the idiots blocking doors would get shoved to the middle of the carriages.
Not the drivers job to make announcements. Even if it's a DOO service then it's still not their job to tell folk to move down the carriage. Some people just need to have a little bit of common sense and weirdly when it comes to using trains it seems like most people don't have any.

Excuse me is this train going to Edinburgh??? It's got the destination on the front back and along the side of the train , you've just asked the station staff then you asked the dispatcher and now you're asking the driver. How many more people need to tell you????

What would you like TPE to do about the weather?
Aye, I appreciate that they couldn’t do much about the delay with the weather but they’re cancelling loads every day due to short notice timetable changes. 6 direct from Manchester to Newcastle cancelled today, not good

I’ve booked return tickets for that route at the end of April (including bank holiday Monday), fully expecting it to go tits up.

Waa travelling from Edinburgh to Newcastle yesterday
Took me 3.5 hours longer than it was supposed to, had to travel via Carlisle

I'd be taking any excuse to extend my stay in Edinburgh. Could you get away with staying overnight? Absolutely love the place. It has its problems but there are some top top pubs and restaurants there.

Maybe not, I don't know. But some drivers do on some trains when they know there is overcrowding. Unless it is against protocol to make announcements for safety reasons, anybody who is an employee and simply cannot be bothered to is part of the block to solving these types of problems.
